Shivang M. Trivedi, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.A.C.P., F.A.S.N.C. joined Cardiology Associates of Somerset County in July 2004. His area of expertise include Consultative Cardiology, Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), Nuclear Cardiology (Nuclear Stress Testing) and Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization.
He is an Attending Physician at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, Somerville, NJ, and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. Dr. Trivedi’s areas of interest within his specialty of Cardiology include preventative cardiology, management of patients with coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy and valvular heart disease.
Dr. Trivedi earned his Medical Degree from Baroda Medical College, M.S. University, Gujarat, India.
He started his medical career in the United States working in research within the specialty of Anesthesia at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He has published numerous abstracts, research papers and articles in various journals and national meetings of Anesthesiology. He then started his Residency in Internal Medicine in 1996 at Maimonides Medical Center.
He trained during his Fellowship in Cardiology at Maimonides Medical Center in 1999. After finishing Fellowship in Cardiology in June of 2002, he joined a multi-specialty group in Pennsylvania. He practiced the specialty of Cardiology within that group for two years before joining CASC in July 2004.
Dr. Trivedi’s research publications in Cardiology include; bleeding complication of platelet GP 2b-3b inhibitor and adciximab published in The Journal of Invasive Cardiology in July 2002. He also published a case report of Clarithromycine and Digoxine Toxicity in the Annals of Internal Medicine in 1998.
He is a member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), American College of Physicians (ACP), and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC). He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). He has applied to become a Fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (FASNC) and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).
Dr. Trivedi is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and in Nuclear Cardiology. Along with Dr. Trivedi’s professional commitment to the field of cardiology, his personal interests include: golf, cricket and to travel with his family.
